LSR001- THE COOLER ETIQUETTE
The self-titled debut is a punk infused medley vastly in homage to the Primal Dead era, featuring performances of or at least in part of: Dark Star, Cryptical Envelopement, Cream Puff War, The Other One, and Born Cross-Eyed. Other performances include Sublime rarity Mic Control, Stiff Little Fingers’ Suspect Device, Black Flag’s Wasted, and System of a Down’s Suggestions. It’s digital release was intended as a side A/ side B concept on 2 tracks.
LSR002- ENDLESS WAITING
The sophomore effort puts a modern take on The Misfits’ Static Age material for a digital age. A dark and lonely Come Back leads to Streaming Age/ 5G Casualty that feels parody, except it isn’t funny at all.
LSR003- THE CEREMONY OF THE LIZARD KING
The 3rd release is a complete performance of The Doors’ infamous Celebration of the Lizard, here re-titled The Ceremony of the Lizard King. No lyrics were altered, but the music is vastly arranged in an original manner.
LSR004- PESO/ QUE HA PASADO?
Peso/ Que ha Pasado is the first single format release and combines the musical score of The Band’s The Weight with Sublime’s lyrical masterpiece What Happened. I find that the music’s original lyrics remarkably reflective of this meshing.
LSR005- AS ABOVE
As Above/So Below: Pt 1 As Above was originally titled Snortin’orcos and was a string of songs that came to me as a medley sometime in 2008. It features the first truly original material from TCE and not one, but two Sublime numbers and hints and passes through a Modest Mouse and Jack Johnson tune as well. Over time, I would revisit this solo acoustic medley and it grew until it was kind of a big ask to take in. As I was preparing to commit it to this project, I discovered the perfect halfway point in the story and that discovery came with the perfect reprise to stand alone or lead right into part 2.
Track Listing:
Intro (Half-Truism/The Offspring), Last Night (Original), Baxter’s New Ladle, Tweedle Dee Twiddle Dumb (Original), Outta Gas (Modest Mouse), Johnny Butt (Sublime), Losing Hope (Jack Johnson), Same In the End (Sublime), Somber R.I.P. (Original), Baxter Reprise (Original)
LSR006- SO BELOW
As Above/So Below: Pt 2 So Below is a continuation and conclusion of the opus medley that haunted and refused to rest until being properly presented. Featuring two more original compositions as well as performances of Warren Zevon, Grateful Dead, Jack Johnson, and Pinhead Gunpowder, the story continues its wind through the introspectiveness of life, love, loss, and loneliness that radiate from the Great Unknown and tries to reflect back a prism of some form of understanding or at the least a little acceptance and assurance.
Track Listing:
Intro (“Baxter”, Original), Desperados Under the Eaves (Warren Zevon), China Doll (Grateful Dead), Fall Line (Jack Johnson), Old Man (Original), New Blood (Pinhead Gunpowder), Something This Pretty Deserves A Pretty Name (Original)
LSR007- ALLY TO UNCERTAINTY
Ally To Uncertainty marks the 7th E.P. release from The Cooler Etiquette. Featuring a new original composition surrounded by 2 classic Nirvana Nevermind performances, a Modest Mouse number, and a lesser known Oskar number called Lucky, inspired by Brad Nowell’s live solo electric version of Hope by The Decendants.
Track Listing:
Lounge Act (Nirvana), Kangaroo Song! (Original), A Different City (Modest Mouse), Something In the Way (Nirvana), Lucky (Osker)
LSR008- LET GO
Let Go is the 8th effort from The Cooler Etiquette, featuring 5 Rancid songs, 3 Op Ivy tunes, as well as the 2nd Osker offering in the catalogue. All acoustic instrumentality (save electric bass guitar) gives a stripped down approach to these fundamental punk rock anthems. “Side A” focuses on the Rancid years, while “Side B” (subtitled: Mere Moments) is geared toward the earlier era of Operation Ivy. The Osker number has always held a special place in my heart, so this is where it landed.
Track Listing:
The 11th Hour, It’s Quite Alright, Poison, Radio Havana, Who’d’ve Thot
Jaded, The Crowd, Strangled (Osker), Vulnerability
LSR009- Wynona Rider (Single)
A Misfits-esque take on The Grateful Dead’s version of the traditional “I Know You Rider” just in time for the 2025 Halloween season!
Original lyrics by The Cooler Etiquette
LSR010- Chasing Light Beams
When I first sketched the concept for an album that would become these recordings, the first tracks were what was the self-titled debut album. The album was released on 2 tracks, but that was only the 1st half of the initial material. This one is the bookend; not only to that initial set, but a conclusion to this journey that beckoned me from as far back as 2005 when I made my 1st home recordings and listed all of my favorite music I would cover given the opportunity: music of the Grateful Dead, Sublime, those early 2000s Epitaph & Warped Tour compilations, Modest Mouse, Jack Johnson- as I said, it was 2005- but specifically since 2020. It was a flood of ideas during the coronavirus quarantine that I couldn’t put down, rather I just had to put them down on tape.
Track Listing:
Doin’ That Rag-> Stella Blue
You Don’t Know How It Feels-> Lovelight-> Suite Surrender Rap-> Reprise
LSR011- VAULT SERIES, Volume 1- Wes Mantooth and The White Star Chili Dawgs
Featuring and produced by Jerrod Cooper (SpeedShifter, Oversat, Love You Dead), this solo work was done on the heels of Casey’s Trunk, a punk/metal project inspired and influenced vastly by 2010-era GWAR and System of a Down, dissolving in 2013. I wanted to express a lighter mood for my music and lay down some stuff that the band wouldn’t have played. (We did play Out In The Wash at a couple of band practices, but it doesn’t fit the bill of the sound.) There are 5 tracks from the original EP and a track that I finished recently, showcasing Jerrod’s songwriting as well as acoustic lead guitar. (Take Too Long; Love You Dead) This album is dedicated to his memory and kindness not only in recording and playing the drum parts for this one, but also in his encouragement in my musical efforts.
Track Listing:
Bridges/ Out In The Wash/ Stagnate (Dylan’s Song)/ Take Too Long (Love You Dead cover)/ Maple Sarah/ I-82 Love Song
LSR012- VAULT SERIES Volume 2- Pumphouse Sessions
Produced by Fred Moore at Pumphouse Studios in Walland, TN, this is the original material that I had leading up to playing in Casey’s Trunk in 2011/12. It is a compilation of 2 albums, formerly titled “Headchanger’s Ball” and “We’re Here, We’re Not The Queers”.
Zack Foss plays drums on all tracks- except “Dave Novarro” (Wes Henry) and “Friends In High Places” (Fred Moore)-, as well as guitar on “Friends in High Places” and the solo on “Henry Crowe”. These are the songs which either I wrote exclusively or penned the lyrics for (Friends In High Places music by Z. Foss), save for the Groovie Ghoulies cover. The production is hotter than the rest of TCE catalogue due to the legitimacy of the studio at Fred’s place.
In arranging this comp, as with the original concept of the first sessions, the acoustic number is right in the middle, inspired by the Alkaline Trio’s classic breakthrough album. In addition, there’s a long pause at the very end of Punk Pt 2 that is reminiscent of the end of Alk3’s “I Lied My Face Off” as well as an unintentional Johnny Rotten.
Track Listing:
Dave Novarro/ Dega/ Monky Jackit, Tom Brokaux (MK1), Detachment/ 5712/ I-82muchLSD25(k)nowEye’m Telekinetic/ Friends In High Places/ Possession Is Only 9/10 Of The Law/ Punk Part 2 (Groovie Ghoulies cover)/ Henry Crowe/ Bus Stop Anklesock Panty
